I've been using Scrivener for several years for class papers, research papers, diaries, and creative writing. I upgraded from Scrivener 2 to 3 after installing Mojave. So far I've noticed the UI is much refined, the program is more responsive (no rainbow wheeling), and compilation and file conversion (especially.doc/.docx) much improved. Scrivener – The go-to app for writers 3.1.4. AppStore QR-Code Scrivener 3. Developer: Literature & Latte. Description “The biggest software advance for writers since the word processor.”. Whether writing the next Great American Novel or keeping up with your blog's demand for new content, you have a lot to juggle. Research, outlines, notes, drafts, edits, publishing—let alone the actual writing process. Scrivener makes it easier. Made by writers for writers, Scrivener is designed to be the only app you need open while you write. Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers to allow them to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult texts. It offers you complete control of the formatting and its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft. On PC/Windows, I use Atom(v 1.21.1) with a few packages installed to allow for a sortable document tree and a word count. Essentially, I made Atom work like Scrivener in all ways important to me for a first draft (so no exporting, formatting or statistics). My goal, after all, is the first draft. Everything after that can be handled in Scrivener.
